I'm really enjoying the growth and progression. Maybe there scared of a certain monster now and get negatives, maybe they want to avenge there parent or sibling that died and gain a certain bonus when fighting a certain monster. Depending upon there death extra abilities could be randomly added. Showing there accomplishments, how they died etc. Click on the hero and have a tree that shows you the evolution of the hero your currently playing. It would also form a really cool lineage which might be awesome to look at later. Better hero's better children = a true legendary hero. It will also emphasize character growth, and dare I say include a breeding effect. Thus allowing you to have in the long run a better hero?įor min/maxers this is kind of an ideal thing. Perhaps You can take two heroes have them fall in love have a child and that child has increased base stats based on what parents have. I find the companionship levels between hero's interesting. Incentive to have more yeas of peace, and a kill for the problem of having only low-level heroes at the end of a campaign. Tl dr: What if you got to train and follow the children of the current adventurers during the years of peace, so they can come in with higher then normal stats and enough experience for one or two levels under their belt when they join the team? More years of peace means more time training, means more stat boosts, experience, and levels. Might be able to skip that if everything involving pre-adult children is done entirely in text format rather then images? Might stand out though. You'd either need to scale down the current models to smaller then normal in an attempt to pass as children, or make children models from the ground up, which probably isn't really desired. This would prooobably be a ton of work though which would be the main drawback. Like having the kid deal with a bully, and you get to decide whether they use force, intellect, or wit. Over the course of at least two chapters (never seen 20+ years of peace all in one go) you've been watching the kid grow and train, maybe with small choice options in the “during the years of peace” segment. If this is the case, you can't even argue that you're not experiencing the character's story progress as they train from level one to three. the more years of peace you get, the more experience the children get between chapters, allowing them to potentially come in at a higher level when they eventually join a team. This could also help combat the dilemma of having nothing but level one-to-two characters in the final few chapters. if not, then you'd get the chance to experiment with high-strength rangers or mystics. This kid would then make an excellent warrior if you get the option to choose for them. For example you could train one child to have high strength and hitpoints, maybe at the cost of some speed. not to become a spesific class, but to increase stats or levels. So what if, during the years of peace, it picks one or more children that aren't adults yet (teens or tweens probably) and you get a short segment of "Training" options. Seeing as i got the child of A two chapters after A died, I'm assuming the game tracks or at least has some memory of who could potentially have a child join the team, even if they aren't around anymore. Perhaps we could combine years of peace with the "child joins the team" mechanic?
